Lyden residents busted for underage drinking
Three YSU students were cited Saturday for underage drinking. The 18-year-old students were caught inside Lyden House when their resident assistant detected a strong odor coming from their rooms. When questioned by the RA, the residents all admitted to having possessed and consumed alcohol. The RA confiscated the remaining alcohol and called the YSU police. The students were transported to the YSU Police Station and issued a citation for possession of alcohol under the age of 21 in lieu of an arrest.
Jones Hall office out of order
A payroll employee arrived at work Saturday to find office furniture and a refrigerator out of place. A chair was wedged between two filing cabinets, blocking the door to the Payroll Office from the Accounts Payable Office. One computer was found running and a black hooded YSU jacket was found under the desk. The unusual state of the office was reported to the YSU police and the jacket was taken for evidence.
Student reports possible theft of car keys
A student claimed his belongings were stolen from the Andrews Wellness Center Friday evening. The student called police Saturday as he had his car was towed from the F5 parking lot. He said that his keys and other possessions were stolen from a bench in the gym while he played basketball the night before. Police examined video surveillance but the bench could not be seen on camera.
Student says books disappeared from bookstore cubbyhole
A student reported his newly purchased books missing from a cubbyhole outside the YSU Bookstore Jan. 16. The student told YSU police that he had left the books unsupervised to purchase more, and when he returned from inside the store his books were gone. YSU Bookstore policy requires customers to leave their belongings in cubbyholes at the door.
