Silver Shine: Shel Silverstein's Legacy Lives on at the Oakland

On Feb. 5, 6, 7, 11, 12 and 13 at Youngstown's Oakland Center for the Arts, iconic children's book author, folk musician and poet Shel Silverstein will be honored with a play titled "An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein." Youngstown State University alumnus Shawn Lockaton will direct the play.

Surviving the stress: Calm down on campus

Stress. Dictionaries might define it using words such as strain, tension or anxiety. Some people might define it using actions such as pulling out hair, banging heads into walls or just simply screaming. Students at Youngstown State University should not fret though; there are services available to deal with some of college's everyday stresses.

New organization influenced by 'humanist' philosophy

Among Youngstown State University's colorful assortment of student groups is a new organization known as the Humanist Objective League of Youngstown, which is looking to grow and develop in the exercise of morality and ethics.
