As part of Women's History Month, Youngstown State University is celebrating "Women on the Educational March." A lecture was held Monday in the Cochran Room of Kilcawley Center with presentations on the topic of "A Woman's Life, Italian Style."
Laura Cuppone and Attilio D'Agresti, both graduate students teaching Italian in the Foreign Language Department, discussed the unification, Risorgimento, of Italy and the women of north and south Italy from the 1960s until today.

Tele-counselors, tour guides and other student employees working more than 15 hours a week at Sweeney Hall have recently had their maximum amount of hours reduced. Students who were working the previous maximum of 20 hours per week are now required to work no more than 15 hours per week in an effort to reduce costs in areas that are fully staffed with students.

For junior Joe Antinone, a pitcher for the Youngstown State University baseball team, the bus crash in Atlanta early Friday morning involving another local team provided a shocking wake up call for him and his teammates.
Antinone said he first learned of the crash - in which four players from the Bluffton University baseball team were killed - while in Missouri during the team's weekend series against the University of Missouri Tigers.

Youngstown State University senior Laurie Lyden has struggled with depression for most of her life.
Lyden said her depression wasn't just sadness.
"I would get overwhelmed by everyday things," she said. "It's like a fatigue and heaviness, [and] not really wanting to do anything.

Civil engineering major Geoffrey Trees hopes that those responsible for scheduling Youngstown State University's summer classes remember that there are students who need certain classes to graduate by the end of the semester.
"Classes in the engineering department are mostly offered once per year," Trees said.
