Youngstown State University President David Sweet said university lawyers are reviewing a decision that could cost the university tens of thousands of dollars in back pay to classified employees. A federal mediator ruled Wednesday in favor of the YSU Association of Classified Employees (ACE) on a 2004 grievance.

Cafaro computers receive upgrade

After weeks of having only nine working computers for Cafaro House's 247 residents, Youngstown State University's Scholars and Honors Program has fixed the other seven broken computers in the building's lab. Prior to this restoration, Cafaro residents and honors students were using severely outdated computers.

Council advocates for STEM aid

A group is advocating that state officials give more financial aid to students who are in math or science-related fields - a recommendation that is being questioned by some Youngstown State University students and faculty. The Science and Mathematics Education Policy Advisory Council recommends the increase in financial aid available to students entering into science, technology engineering and mathematics (STEM) majors.
